Before starting the application process, review the B.S.N. admission criteria.
The following must be completed in order to be considered for admission to the nursing program.
Students must be admitted to USD prior to the nursing application deadline. Official transcripts will be required. To ensure a timely review of the admission materials, it is recommended you apply by Jan. 15 for fall semester nursing classes or July 15 for spring semester.
Applicants must complete the Health Education Systems Incorporated Admission Assessment Exam (HESI) prior to the application deadline.
Spring admission deadline: Sept. 1
Fall admission deadline: Feb. 1
Late applications will be accepted on a space-available basis until June 1 for fall and Oct. 1 for spring admissions. Contact your nursing advisor for more information.
Prerequisite courses must be completed or be enrolled in at the time of application to the nursing program.
The following items must be completed and received on or before midnight on the deadline in order to be given full consideration:
Students who have been enrolled in a nursing program at USD or any other institution will be evaluated for selection into the nursing program on a case-by-case basis. Students must provide a copy of their transcripts and a written explanation for their departure. Failure to disclose the above information will result in either denial of admission or expulsion from the nursing program. Submit documents to Nursing Students Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or to your advisor.

There is no fee to submit the USD nursing application. However, if you are admitted to the B.S.N. program and accept the conditional offer of admission, you will be required to complete additional requirements and will be responsible for all expenses incurred.
