The Department of Mathematical Sciences provides courses in both pure and applied mathematics, as well as in statistics.

The Classroom & Beyond

  • The math department holds Pi Day every year in the MUC.

    Pi Day Celebration

    The Math Department served 33 pies this year at the annual event to celebrate the significance of pi (3.14).

  • The Math Department annually hosts the Merten Hasse Math Competition for area junior high and high school students. Schools earn points for each student who places in the top eight of the division exams.
